This is a recipe I got from some friends, Bruce and Bridget Titus, whom we knew when we were first married and living in Iowa. This was Bruce’s famous recipe. I changed it just a bit, and doubled the amount of sauce.
- 1 ½ lbs lean ground beef
- ½ cup milk
- 1 cup quick oats
- 1 egg
- ¼ tsp each: garlic powder, pepper, chili powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ TBL dried onions
Combine all and make into meatballs. I usually use my big mixer with the dough attachment. Put meatballs in a 9X13 dish and cover with sauce. Cover tightly with foil or lid and bake at 350 for 1 hour. Serve over rice.
Meatball Sauce:
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Combine all and pour over sauce.
